FLYING CHRISTINE HOME – INSTRUCTIONS FOR CEREMONY
….. Dorothy sits. Scarlett rests her hands on the desk.
“Dorothy, this is what it’s about,” Scarlett begins. “I’ve been reviewing footage from our archives—how Delta honors fallen soldiers when they’re flown to their final destination. The care, the discipline, the respect—it’s impressive. Makes one proud to be associated with this company. Wouldn’t you agree?”
“Yes, Miss Murray. We take those responsibilities seriously.”
“There will be a special passenger on Delta Flight 587 on May fourth. Destination: Denver, Colorado. The same level of protocol will be observed.”
Dorothy nods, writing.
“I want the whole ceremony documented for our archives,” Scarlett says.
“The filming must be discreet. No close-ups, no sweeping or panoramic movements, no sound recording. The camera in-visible, observes—it does not intrude.” [Chapter 86 — Tuesday, April 24, 1984]
